Premier Spray Sense Anti Bark Citronella Collar Review
An electronic dog training collar designed primarily for use to stop barking, the Premier Spray Sense Anti Bark Collar seeks to address this problem in as humane a way as possible. Using patented Spraylogik technology, this system addresses unmonitored correction of unwanted barking, as well as other common behavior problems (digging, unexpectedly leaving your property, food aggression, etc.).
Instead of using electrical shocks or irritating sonic cues, it utilizes a harmless but unpleasant spray of citronella scent to alter the dog’s behavior. Like other electronic dog training collars, this product is designed with both effectiveness and safety in mind. Though this scent is generally considered pleasant by humans, dogs find it unnatural and curious – enough to cause them to pause in their current behavior. The citronella spray is hypo-allergenic and non-staining, so is safe for indoor or outdoor use.
By using a spray instead of a hazardous shock or ultrasonic tone, dogs are sure to have their behavior corrected without any risk of pain and with minimal discomfort. This ensures a much more productive training environment, as pain and discomfort can interfere with proper behavior modification or even worsen some behaviors.
Some studies have compared the efficiency of citronella spray versus other deterrents such as sonic or shock stimulation, and have found that citronella sprays are more effective. This was shown to be the case in all except anxiety related behaviors. This increase in the rate of modified behavior is attributed to several factors. First, the lack of pain or excessive discomfort during training that spray modification systems allow. Secondly, instead of just the pain or touch receptors (for shock collars), or hearing (for sonic collars), sprays work on multiple senses: the dog can hear, feel, and smell the action of the spray.
Like most standard electronic dog training collars, this system will fit a wide range of dogs (collars adjust up to 24 inches), comes with a limited lifetime warranty and detailed usage instructions. Instead of the more costly batteries required with electrical stimulation systems, this collar requires only a six volt alkaline battery. An on/off switch allows the collar to be accustomed to wear without adverse association before training begins. This will allow the dog to associate the spray with their behavior that requires modification, and not the collar itself.
Im a great believer in citronella collar and the fact that they are so humane and very effective, my own Bichon Frise “Toby” is testament to that.
He did prove very stubborn at first but eventually the message got through No Bark No Spray. Only concern I have with them is that they can be bulky on small dogs or puppies.
What happens is that the spray unit can flip over and end up spraying their paws, when that happens you are relient on the hiss noise that unit makes but this does eventually distract the dog… and stops the barking.

Yah, the citronella collar works pretty well for scent sensitive dogs but I found the cheap citronella collar not as effective as the static ones. I bought one from EBay for $99 and tried it on my Border Collie and somehow my Susie, got used to the spray and started barking again. I had to upgrade to a Static one. In fact, I found it pretty good. The static isn’t that strong and inhumane as I thought. The static felt like the static pulses on the electronic feet massager. It worked better on my dog. I would say, try the cheap ones if you find it not effective, there is no harm trying the static.
I ended up with a Dogtra brand YS300 from Dogmaster Trainer after my upgrade. Susie is liking the collar and did not look trumatised by the static
These are really very helpful in training dogs !!!
