MultiVet Spray Commander Remote Training System Review

MultiVet’s Spray Commander Remote Training System provides a great alternative to electrical stimulation or sonic tone training collars. This system uses the spray of an odorless, scentless liquid to discourage dogs from continuing in their current behavior. If you prefer you could obtain a citronella scented spray refill. This electronic dog training collar also includes the ability to produce a positive sound cue. Enabling instantaneous application of both positive and negative effects greatly reduces training time. The system can be used to correct potential problems such as barking, feces eating, escaping, stealing, digging, chasing and jumping.

This system is arguably directed towards both newcomers and those who wish to stay away from electronic stimulation dog training collars. Without any electrical stimulation, users can be assured that their dogs will not feel any pain from this training method. The liquid utilized is scentless and will discourage the dog through the tactile sensation and sound of being discharged. Like other high quality electronic dog training collars, the spray is performed using patented SprayLogik technology. This spray is not harmful or painful in any way, but is sufficiently powerful only to cause your pet a momentary distraction. By using such a subtle cue and by utilizing the positive tone extensively, users should be able to train their dogs appropriately without any increases in the animal’s anxiety, fear, or aggression.

The Spray Commander system includes a training manual as well as an informative CD. The guides cover the basics of how to use the system, as well as teaching how to train for specific common tricks and correct common behavior problems. Of course this is useful for the novice, but also serves as a helpful guide for advanced trainers who are new to using this system.

Spray Commander is designed to be easy to use and adaptable. Collars in this system can be activated by the remote from within 300 feet. The collar adjusts to fit a variety of sized dogs, and the spray that the system uses is safe for all dog breeds, puppies, people, and the environment.

  • The term shock collar is a term used to describe a family of electronic training collars (also called e-collars or electronic collars). The collar produces an static pulse stimulation at varying degrees of intensity and duration to the dog via a small transmitter incorporated into a dog collar. Some collar models also include a tone or vibrational setting, as an alternative to or in conjunction with the static pulse stimulation. Others include integration with Internet mapping capabilities and GPS to locate canines or alert owners of their whereabouts.

Originally used in the 1960s to train gun dogs, Early collars were very high powered and could be harmful if used incorrectly. Electronic collars are now readily available and have been applied to a wide range of purposes, including behavioral modification, anti-theft and GPS location and tracking, obedience training, and pet containment, as well as military, police and service training. While similar systems are available for other animals, the most common are the collars designed for domestic dogs.
